It's under the clock options... When charging... Set it to either Enter Bedside Mode or Show Clock...

When charging - enter bedside mode
    Dismiss clock automatically - no

Then go down to bedside mode settings and set "dim screen" to yes if you want the screen to be less bright but still have the clock show.

That's how mine is set and it is perfect!

so....... its only possible to have the clock stay in bedside mode whilst charging?

Is there is a way to keep it on without having it on charge?

My Dismiss clock automatically - yes... This is to dismiss the clock when you come out of Bedside mode... But other than that, this is my setup as well... I also have it go into my Phone Calls Only profile so email and text don't wake me...

Nope, it's not possibly to have the clock (or any other display) stay on continuously. If so, the battery would drain very quickly. It will only display while charging.

And what is the difference between dim (yes) and dim (no). I can't see a difference in screen brightness with either option.

You may have your screen up to bright in the screen settings?

You must be in a dark room for the light sensor to allow the screen to dim. With it set to on, the screen will automatically dim to the lowest setting when Bedside Mode is active and the device is plugged in to a charger.

Hint: You can also set it to use a specific profile whilst in bedside mode, like phonecall only. As an example. And within a given time.

Very neat way to turn off notifications at night.

I created a custom "bedside" profile and pointed the Bedside Mode options to it. This allows me to specify exactly what notifications I want in bedside mode.

I've tried all the different setting combos and the clock still goes off. This is so frustrating as I use it as my bedside clock.

There is a bug in the bedside mode in the latest official release .1015 it can be easily fixed. Just do a search for "bedside mode fix" it will give you all the steps to do. it is simple using BBSAK and you dont have to reload the OS. Just replace the clock.cod from .983

At the risk of upsetting someone, I will mention that
IF you are using 1015, this is a well-known bug with
    a well-documented solution.

RIM says it is a cosmetic, non-essential boo-boo.
Witness the big HooHah over the iPHONE's alarm.

I LOVE my S2 with 1015 and the bedside mode fix !

    Something odd
The bedside mode does not work when plugged into the wall charger but it does when connected to my computer via the USB cable. Don't know why?

I have not done the fix as I am running on a Mac
