Hey everyone,

When i add someone to my BB messanger list, do they have to have the same phone as me?
I tried adding someone who had a curve from AT&T and i have the storm from verizon.
Does that matter?

Also when someone wants to add me, why dont i get a request or anything. I took someones phone(same kid as above) and tried to add myself to his list and it said Pending(Waiting for Authorization)

What does that mean?

Hey Ben.....

I don't believe the model or carrier of the phone matters. I've got the storm, i've BBM'd with people who have the pearl, the curve, the bold....it's all blackberry....that's all that matters...

as for adding someone on messenger...i've had that issue too, usually when someone adds you, you'll get a message.....did you try going on your phone, and adding THEM as a contact......that should clear it....

BBM allows you to converse with any 2 BlackBerry devices anywhere on the planet regardless of model or carrier. All you need is their PIN.

You're supposed to be able to do it via email addresses, but sometimes it doesn't work right. Adding people using their PIN works best.

If it's stuck in "pending" status, that likely means they don't have a data plan. If you don't have a data plan (which some AT&T users don't), you can't use BBM. I had the same issue with a friend of mine. You can't even send PIN messages!
