Are you sure? Maybe that's where you ended up after the "Storm" subsided...

The 8300 does not have GPS so you are reliant on GPS mast triangulation. If this is the first time that you have tried BBMaps then it may be useful to do so within direct sight of a GPS mast and give it some time (minutes) to get a fix. I use Google Maps on one of my phones which has no GPS and it gets a fix to within 2100 Metres.

If this does not work then always say "Hola." to passers by.

He has no satellites. The 8300 does not have GPS. His phone is triangulation off GSM towers. This is very odd.

Just for fun, could you please try installing Google Maps (Google Maps) to see if that shows your true location. In GM, if you press the 0 key it will try to force and update to My Location. USe the help text to see the other function keys. Many people prefer Google Maps to BB Maps but fo course, this is personal. I have an 8100 as a spare phone and GM works just fine to locate me to within 2000 meteres.
