Is there anything you do special that you do to keep your battery lasting longer such as turning down your brightness and stuff? My batt life is horrible. I think it has also been a lot worse on this 103/106 hybrid. Just seeing if yall do anything special???

    Found some help in here.

one thing is turning off gps when you are not using it I find helps other than that I don't do anything. I keep brightness at 90% ( I like it bright) and my batt will last a couple of days on .103

When you say "turn off gps" do you mean turn off location aiding or GPS service?

if u have weatherbug app, setting the update frequency interval to max helps too. so that it's not constantly updating all the time.

I doubt the gps is active all the time if you turn it on in options. If that was so, you would not need to click start navigation in bbmaps. For battery life I leave screen brightness at 10. It is still very bright IMO and even too bright in the dark.

I turned off location on weatherbug and put auto update to every two hours. It has improved my battery life greatly and if I need wb to update sooner I just manually update it

One tip that worked for me was to switch "network technology" from "global" to "1xEV". Don't remember where I saw to do that, but it helped.

I uninstalled and reinstalled all of my programs and used all of the above recommendations and the battery life is a lot better. Also it helped with memory usage using the same exact programs.

All BBs can sense the presence of a magnet.

Most BB OEM cases as well as non OEM that are made with a built in bttery that causes the phone to "sleep" as much as possible when inserted into the case (ie. screen goes dark and profile settings can change when inserted).

I honestly think the best thing that saves my battery life on my storm is the Siedo case that I use that puts it to sleep. As long as you have it in a case when not using it, you can go a couple of days without needing to charge it.

The GPS is only active when actively used. Proof: Google Maps (now that it's working).

I leave GMM running a lot, often hitting the End key instead of closing the app. GMM will lose your location and its GPS lock while its not active. Switching back, it will have to reacquire GPS lock

I was running .99 and I switched to .103 and my battery life went down the toilet. Then I followed someones advise and downgraded back to .99 and wrote down all my 3rd party apps. Then I reloaded .103 minus the third party apps rather than having the DM install them apart of the OS u
pgrade. Finally, I did fresh installs for all my third party apps and after a full day of using my phone, I still have 2 bars left. How bout dat!

also if my phone rings and i start to pull it out it stop ringing out loud, but still ringing?? is that because of the magnet??

Either that or when you pull it the screen or one of the buttons is depressed, silencing the ring and allowing the caller to continue to hear the ring on the other end until you or voicemail answers.
