get it at BlackBerry Apps/Hybrids by lyricidal
So, has anyone tried it? Pros/Cons versus straight .148 or BBCrackman 5.1?
Its installing now, I'll report back later coming from a great experience with BBC 5.1

I got it installed too the only con I've noticed is a little keyboard lag

I guess lyrid hasn't implemented the full .148 os yet unless I misunderstood his post. But as far as I can tell it works damn good for me, my app mem is at its highest ever. And battery life is amazing.

update on the way to .148 (it was almost all .148 except for the 9 files for QL fix) new one should show .148 at its best with 5.0 of course :)
I'm running it. I haven't has any trouble yet. My accelerator is faster than OS.141 and everything
Else seems to be the same.

I installed it over an hour ago and my app memory is the best its ever been as well at 50.9mb. This build is also very stable for it not being the full implementation of .148!
I would like the pros v. cons as well
I'll be making a new topic once the new installers are done, hopefully we can get some good findings posted in it
I'm running it. It's great. Phone boots up at 55 mb and settles in around 48 mb. He fixed the quicklaunch problem. Camera is fast. Accelerometer is good. Battery life is good for me. I lose about 1% or 2% per hour with no use.
As far as third party apps go, I also use meterberry, pageonce, thestreet, battery booster, google maps, weatherye, field towers, bolt, opera mini, stormlock and the 3d Plus today theme.
I can't wait to see what he comes up with next!
I haven't loaded it, but just wanted to ask...Since Cheetah released v1.5 and the QL issue is now fixed, are you going to put hose files back? What files were regressed anyway, and what other affects might they have?
already done DeaconBlue - see new topic :)
ive had it running for a while now
and i must say, maybe its because of five new apps i just installed along with the OS update, but its been really laggy, especially when compared against BBC 5.1
ill check out the update (haha, apparently i downloaded and installed it 30 mins before the update...lol)
i don't know if i'm just an *****, but i have the 9500 and I went to download this but it's the exact same download as for the 141......I did go onto lyr download page and selected the full .148 but it's the exact same download as 141 with the exact same files etc....my phone still says it's running 141???
Anyhelp appreciated
hmmm, i believe your phone will show that you are running whatever OS you installed the hybrid on top of.
In other word if you installed the hybrid on top of .132, your phone will display .132. If you installed it on .141, then it'll show .141. Get it? :)
What I did was the following:
-Remove all other OSes from my computer
-Install .148 for the 9530 (because i have the 9530)
-Install the Hybrid5.0.exe file I got from lyr's website (which is the 32-bit .148/5.0 hybrid installer)
-Run shrink OS and then app loader and let it run :)
But in your case, since .148 is not out for the 9500 yet (right???) then you're stuck at .141 as a base for the time being.
Installing the 9500 version at the moment. :)
By far the best out there.
I'm running it now. In all honesty it is kinda sluggish sometimes. I may have doped the install but that is a minimal possiblity. lyricidal may have adjusted the settings since I last updated. Ill look for a newer version and maybe that will fix my problems.
yeah i agree its sluggish at times, thats why i prefer BBCrackman 5.1 over it...but not all the time! the battery life on lyr's hybrid continues to blow me away. i can finally afford to leave my gps on 24/7 and have my battery EASILY last me a whole work day and then some. before, leaving the gps on would kill my phone in 4-5 hours flat, even if i didnt touch it. it was ridiculous
thanks lyr :) uve made me a happy storm user :D
I like this hybrid a lot, it is very clean and much faster switching btw programs and obv sufing the internet
