Until today i was getting pretty decent battery life running with .83 and then with .85. Was fully charged this morning and by 12:30pm was down to 75% without using the phone at all, not sure if i left it unlocked in my pocket or what but today it drained very quickly. I am currently at 25% with only a couple of text message, less then 10mins on the phone and about 7mins in the browser. Has anyone else had this problem.

Initial impressions of mine is very very bad. Installed at 4 PM today, barely out of its cradle and now have 20% left. I'm hoping this was just a fluke and it improves!

Same here. Did a full charge this morning. Lasted from 12pm to 8:45pm. I only used it to make a 3 minute phone call. No apps were open nor loaded.

Will battery pulls work? I don't understand why so many people are experiencing better battery gains.

ive definitely seen a huge improvement in mine

before while running .75 my battery would be dead by 430pm, i turn it on at 6am

upgraded to .83 and it improved a little bit, lastes til about 5-530pm

upgraded to .85 and im now sitting at 35% after 100+ SMS/MMS constant email coming in, browsing about 2 hours, about 5 phone calls today and playing brickbreaker for 2 hours lol......id say it was very improved with this OS

I've had improvements with mines. Was using BBM all morning from 11am-3pm, then went to work and did around 75 SMS and 20 mins worth of phone calls with still 55% left. Did an hour charge and been texting since 8pm till now and on AIM and been on the phone for over 40 mins with 35% left.

sorry newbie here - I have a telus storm - where is the radio? Or do you mean streaming music?
I'm sorry I know this is off topic but I nominate this quote as the funniest newb question ever!!!

Don't take offense, just bust'en balls.

Back on topic, I will have to say that my battery lasts twice as long with the .85 as compared to any other on my phone. I charge my phone every night anyway, but I have noticed that the last two days I have been hooking up the charger at night with over 60% compared to less than 20, what it normally was.

And another off topic thing I've noticed, at my house signal strength is very low, in most cases I have to walk outside to place a call. Since .85 I've had decent signal inside of my house. something I've not had with this phone or my old pearl. My wife still can not male a call in the house with her pearl.

yeah I've had .65, .75, .76, .85 and by far .85 is a great battery save I do like that very much because the others werent so hot, but the thing i dont like is my memory drain it drops from a 45mb battery pull to running around 30 sometimes even less like 24mb

My battery life is worse with .85. I always close my apps and think I've been using my phone less as I don't play around with it as much.

It goes from 100% or 95% charge to low battery (radio turning off) in about 6 hours. With .83 or .75, it would last much longer.

My battery life has tanked on .85, and I did not upgrade to .83. One thing I've noticed today was that my screen never turned off after I laid the phone down. Makes me wonder if it stays on in the case and I don't know.

Mine is better than previous versions and now means that I wasted money on my car charger. That's a good thing. Started early today at 0500 so we will see how long it lasts today as I am a medium to high end user. I will report back tonight.

My battery life was pretty poor even on .83 but on .85 I can use it normally for a day and not even have to charge it at night which is amazing to me. I have 3.5 bars now and I have been using it since yesterday afternoon.

On another note, in response to Five, I also noticed that my Storm screen sometimes does not turn off which I never noticed before I installed .85. Anyone else see this?

ok until yesterday I was with the folks having poor battery life with whichever OS...I then remembered that I had NEVER charged the battery upto 100% ever since I got the Storm....I did this the night before, let it get to where the indicator is red and the "Low Battery" shows...then plugged it into the OEM wall charger overnight..unplugged at 7am YESTERDAY once the bolt was gone and bam! Used it just like regular and right now at 11:30 am TODAY, there still is 15% left!!!! So I think we should all try that and then report back....that's pretty darn good for me. Just thought I would share my experience.

My battery seems to be about the same as before .85. I would classify myself as a "Medium" user of the phone. Approx. 10-15 phone calls, 20-25 emails, 1/2 to 2 hrs. web use, and some IM use each day. I have not had any issues at all since upgrading to .85, battery seems to be about the same. I charge each night before going to bed around 11:00 and unplug from charger at 5:30 - 6:00 each morning. I usually have over half of the battery left each night when I return to the charger at night.
