I've seen some unusual things from my Storm this week, running .109.

    1. Device memory was down to 1.16MB until I performed a batt reset (came back with 31.1MB), not consistent but occurs now and again (maybe once every 2-4 days).
    2. The display started turning on by itself (like a timed fade out, in reverse). Batt reset fixed it.
    3. Camera controls (email, save, delete, etc) stayed the same width in landscape as it was in portrait (remedy was several rotations back and forth).
    4. Apparent variation in battery life (even considering variations in use).

Nothing earth shattering or new, just another data point. I still prefer .109 over any other version I've used.

Am I missing something or not? I just did the OS to .109 upgrade and it went smooth. I had previously done the 3rd party apps backup procedure that has been around for awhile (switch device, copy pin folder etc...) After the OS upgrade and a normal restore I got all my 3rd party apps as far as I can see it!. Any idea why that happened (not complaining) and i don't think i need to do the install of 3rd party apps.

Do not upgrade to .114 if you need your phone keypad while on an active call. It will not be accessible. .109 still does the trick. Downloaded back to this for the phone keypad reason.

That maybe be the case in Italy, but the new official release has not came out yet for Verizon...and i am almost 100% sure it will not be the .113

Its going to be much much much better. This is why Verizon has not released a new and official OS. Verizon does not want to mess this up again. When they think its ready (perfect) they will release it. Personally, I would rather wait longer for a great OS, than get a crappy one every 2 weeks. It should hopefully be out within the next few weeks. Everyone just chill, when it comes out it will be well worth the wait!

"new features" I don't need, making the old ones work would be more useful - as would "improve the phone"!

VZW store manager told me today that the next official release will be early next week. He didn't know the version number though. Said they had been testing it forever....

I wouldn't be surprised. How often do you see new versions of computer systems come out? I don't know, it seems to me that expectations on a new OS in 3 or 4 months after last release minimum may be reasonable.

Anyway they haven't leaked .125. Yet.

Excellent idea considering the leaked versions are out in fill force. You know the next question will be how do I go back if I want to. Nice preemptive strike

P.S. Good to have you as a moderator CX. Always have appreciated your help (sorry off topic).

Yes, I loaded .114 yesterday. Not sure what all the fuss is about. There is slight improvement over .75, which is what I was using before, but not that much.

I think too many people are drinking the Kool-aid. It's hard to tell just how much faster one version is over another version. They're both still slow IMO. Additionally, these new leaks are still nothing more than bug fixes; so we need to remain cognizant of that.

Seems to be a slight improvement as far as the accelerometer is concerned; but it's still light years behind the iPhone's accelerometer.

Memory loss remains the same. in fact, memory loss is more a function of leaving apps running in the background than an OS issue. I didn't have problems on .75; no worse than .114.

.114 has the full QWERTY keyboard in portrait mode. The keypads are very narrow, so it's kind of hard to use. I've never owned any other BB, but I would assume the raised keypads would be much easier to use than those on the screen.

.114 seems stable, but I've only had it loaded for a day. .75 was very stable for me, so no diff there.

    Here's the official .114 thread...
