Hey Just wana say that this place is amazing and so is my storm . And im a total newbie when it comes to my phone. More importantly ive jsut started recevieng random reboots. Although i havent gotten them in a while i was considering taking it back. Yet i see alot of people upgrading their storms to different versions. I can honestly say i friggin hate .75. I want to upgrade and i get the basic steps but i dotn wana upgrade to a leaked version and then have to take my phone back to the store and void my warranty. (i have verizon wireless dont knwo if i can even upgrade to anythign yet). Any advice is definetly appreciated. Just Went On My Verizon Dm And It Updated My Os To 122 Officail From Verizon I Was Running 113 And It Said That I Need To Downgrade For Update And It Did And Know It Says I Have V4.7.0.122(platform 4.0.0.144

That is not .109. That is .76. You are looking at the package version, when you need to look at the number beside Applications.

Please remember Verizon Wireless doesnt make the phone or create the software for it. This is all RIM

There is no exe. Not yet anyway.

The update is for Bell 9500, not for VZW's 9530, however you can still use its a leaked OS. I hope u all understand what and why you are installing an official OS for another carrier. You will run into major problems, leading to unhappiness.

that is incorrect. Bell is a CDMA carrier, and their update is for the 9530.

Tried the installer and still nothing

Tried this and now have nothing at all, phone wont boot just get red light flashing intermitently

I hope I'm not wrong about this, but someone is welcome to comfirm this; when it comes to OS, it would be device specific if not carrier specific. I say this because of the amount of experience coming from the Treo wx. I've seen VZW do the same with that device as with the Storm. Ex: when vzw didn't abopt the treo 800w; however Sprint adopted it, and vzw released an update for the 700wx which was the wm6. You couldn't put the 700p on the 700wx or 800w. I know I'm blabbing about WM, just to give you a general ideal. Again, I hope someone more knowledgeable than I am can set this straight. It doesn't make sense to go through so much trouble to get an official update for a non-specific device, if it's not leaked, so please explain?

Alright, I'm a complete newbie to crackberry. I have the 9530 Storm and have already done all the updates provided by me device mgr. I know there's a crap load of updates to the os and I have no clud where to begin? What should I do first? Thanks for any suggestions and help!

Bigslim, this update works fine and it is for the 9530 Storm. It's just a Bell update and there is a way to safely install it. I think you are under the impression that this is for the 9500. It isn't.

My phone is working fine no problems 19 hours after install.
