I just signed up for Rhapsody and transfered a bunch of WMA's to my BB. I was curious what bit rate Rhapsody was using for subscription music. So I looked at them in MS explorer, it reports that the bit rate for all my transfered songs are 64 kps. Later I called Rhapsody about this and I was told that my storm was compressing the files. Not really believing that I investigated it a little more. It appears that any WMA file reads as 64 kps when viewed with Windows explorer. I tried transfering 160 kps and 320 kps files and they say 64 kps on my Blackberry. When I copy or move the files back to my desktop they read correctly. The file size doesn't change when the files are transfered back and forth so I assume that windows can't correct read the file header information correctly on the blackberry. Anyone else notice this?
