It looks like a thin Storm with a droid theme.:D
yep! :)
--------
It may be copying the outside of the phone...but not the inside!
It looks like a thin candy bar style phone with a large screen...lol. The Galaxy S is going to be awesome...I wish it were coming to VZW.

indeed it does remind me of the storm
actually, it resembles a moto droid....with MUCH BETTER specs! :)
I thought this phone had an uncanny resemblance to the Storm 2, but once I put them side by side I thought "meh..." but they really are similar looking.

Makes the S2 look like five year old tech.
Because it is.
Its a good looking phone and makes better use of the form factor for screen real estate.

Jeez, it just never ends with you. We get it, you hate BlackBerry phones!
Back on topic, I think that it's just a product of the slate form factor. Unfortunately, you get a lot of phones that look almost identical. Not saying I don't like the styling of my Storm, but if you want to stand out and keep the slate form factor, you have to do something different a la the HTC Incredible.
It's a touchscreen phone without a slide-out keyboard. How unique do you expect it to look?

I don't think this is the slider version. There are several versions of the Galaxy S. This is the one I like except it will be on AT&T. :(
FYI, not all touchscreen phones look nearly identical to one another. Do YOU think the iPhone looks anything like the Storms? Can't you see how the top plate of the Samsung has the same downward curvature and is black, just like the Storm? that's not a ubiquitous design element shared by many touchscreen phones.
Well, we know they cant be copying Blackberry, or it would have "BING" across the screen instead of the "G" word.
that part melts in your mouth, not in your hand.
Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery right?
However something tells me once you start comparing web browsing, the similarities would cease.

I could say the same thing about BBM. :)
same when comparing push e-mail tech ;)
True, but if they hadn't done that then it would have looked like an iPhone or an HTC, or whatever. They couldn't win here...no matter what there would be resemblance to something else. ANd I have to say that they made MUCH better use of the real estate than RIM did. Not that I don't like my S2, but there's definitely room there for a larger screen!
Of course, Samsung is known not to be original in most of its phone designs. This one is no different.
I definitely like the Storm 2 form factor. I hope RIM will retain in the next iteration.
FINALLY... A sexy looking Android device! Like others have said... Too bad its on big blue lol.

Yeah, well... Here's my next next cell phone. I just can't decide which model. :D
