Hello, sorry for not getting back to you sooner. OS .114 should fix most of these issues except for the SMS issue. That one is not resolved as of yet.

And I'm still missing Hebrew. It wasn't included in any OS for the storm.

.114 has Hebrew added to view and to type with. It has the files ending in He. You would need to load .114, which is terrible all by itself, or the .114 hybrid, which is great! You can find the .114 hybrid at the link below, and it will include Hebrew for reading and writing.

New .114 Hybrid and it works great

Unfortunatley its only for 9530 and Arabic is built into it but I'm sure the 9500 OS will be soon to follow and hopefully it will have the same Arabic capabilities as the .114 for the 9530.

    Hi everyone,

I used the attached file (Arabic folder) and copied it to the Research in motion/app loader.

After that I ran the LOADER in the RIM folder and then clicked on add then added the Arabic.alx file.

Now I can view arabic sms/email however I can only type arabic in multitap form.

    Any sugestions?

(I think I could have went wrong with the file JAVA in the Arabic folder attached by someone on the first page. I haven't used anything in that Java folder and have no idea where to copy it to or something)

Please reply, thanks for you time!

thanks but I cant write SMS
I don't really know why only when we go sms the keyboard buttons disappear.
    I have tried .90, .109, .114, .132, .141, and finally .148 and got always the same result.
This is happening when you use Arabic or Hebrew. My guess it has to do with the sfi file.

I hope Lyricidal or BBCrackman can answer this question, Why?

I ve tried many solutions and OSs. The problem is either the device becomes very unstable thus many battery pulls, OR, it would work good with Arabic input but you can never go back to English input.

    It is very frustrating.

Can anyone pls tell me if they are running well with Arabic, and can toggle back and fourth to English.

Which OS is best for Arabic. I ve tried 90, 103, 122, 148

    Plz help

    Thanks

O...Yeah...I always said this is part of the 4.7 radio not supporting arabic. The alx mentioned to support Arabic was not enough to get the system fully support arabic, especially when you want to type sms.
New 5.0 OS does a great job, it fully support Arabic. you can fully convert your UI and even type in Arabic if you want to, but this is still beta and needs some improvements.

Well I manually added it by copying the following files from .99 to .103

    - BlackBerry.alx
    - net_rim_tid_dynamic_ling_data_arabic_eg_45k_2.cod
    - net_rim_tid_dynamic_ling_data_arabic_eg_ltr.cod

    Here's the steps on Vista:

    1. Go to Start/Computer/C Drive/Program Files (x86)

Attachment 12896 <-- Click here to view picture

    2. Then go to the folder named Commen Files

Attachment 12897 <-- Click here to view picture

    3. Then go to folders named Research in Motion/Shared/Loader Files

Attachment 12895 <-- Click here to view picture

    4. You should then see all the OS's that you've loaded in the past for your Blackberry. Go to the file 4.7.0.90 or 4.7.0.99 they both contain Arabic. When you decide which OS your going to pull from then enter the folder. For an example if you chose 4.7.0.99 then go into the folder and find the BlackBerry.alx, copy it to your desktop because you need to pull two more files. Then in that same folder on the top right in the search area, type in the world Arabic and it will automaticly take you to the two .cod arabic files that are located in the Java folder that you also need which are net_rim_tid_dynamic_ling_data_arabic_eg_45k_2.cod
    and
    net_rim_tid_dynamic_ling_data_arabic_eg_ltr.cod

Attachment 12900 <-- Click here to view picture

Copy both of these files also to your desktop next to the blackberry.alx file

    5. Now high light and copy all three files but do it in two sets because they go into different folders:
    BlackBerry.alx
    net_rim_tid_dynamic_ling_data_arabic_eg_45k_2.cod
    net_rim_tid_dynamic_ling_data_arabic_eg_ltr.cod

Copy BlackBerry.alx and paste it into the folder named 9530-v4.7.0.103_P4.0.0.131 - a message will come up saying that it already exists, just click replace existing.

Then copy the other two files on your desktop:
    net_rim_tid_dynamic_ling_data_arabic_eg_45k_2.cod
    net_rim_tid_dynamic_ling_data_arabic_eg_ltr.cod
    and past them into 9530-v4.7.0.103_P4.0.0.131/Java
make sure you put them in the Java folder and NOT the main folder by BlackBerry.alx

Attachment 12901 <-- Click here to view picture

Open Desktop Manager and connect your blackberry. You will be prompted to update and just click update button and follow the prompts.

That should do it, good luck.
    thanks for the good work,

attached please find all the files you need to arabize the bb
