You can assign any MP3 or whatever sound file as a ringtone. So, yes, you can simply pick a song you like (it'll play the first 15 secs) or make your own by snipping parts of a song via 3rd party sound editing software.
I make all my own ringtones. All you need is Audacity and Any Audio Converter.... both free software packages and very easy to use.
i use an online version at myxer.com. I've sent about 30 custom ringtones to my moto phone and have not had much of a problem. You can upload and edit any song of your choice then send it to your phone. I'm hoping this will work with the new storm.
audacity is the lick for making your own ringtones
Phonezoo.com rocks my socks.

So, if I understand correctly, there is no possibility to use a complete MP3 as a ringtone? That's the first thing I learn about blackberry which I don't particularly like..
Here in the States I believe that forty seconds is the longest that VZW will let your phone ring before it goes to voicemail. So using a full song really isn't an option anyway.
It will only play the first 15 sec, like JR said, this is default for the phones ringer. If not it will play till t he song is done..... 3-4 min of on the other line HAHA i think not, I would hang up.....
I wouldn't let it ring an entire song, that would be stupid :P
I just dislike phone ringers that play the same melody over and over if you don't have your phone in your pocket (at home or at work or something). I'll just wait and see, play with it when it is here and see what I can do.
But to answer your question Yes you can use a complete MP3 as a ringer, just won't hear all of it... or you can edit a section of a full song and use that....
I'm still confused to what your stating lol sorry.....
What's confusing about it?
I think it's annoying to hear a short part of a song(15 seconds in this case) being played over and over when my phone is not in my pocket so I have to walk to get to it.
But if this is the case, too bad, I'll learn to live with it ;)
Check this maybe this will help.
Ring time - BlackBerry Forums
thanks :) Seems like that is about how long it takes before the call gets forwarded to voicemail.
right which the way I am understanding it as if they increase that , then you can play a longer song and it will not loop.
okay, that could be.
I will try it out as soon as I have it :)
I have been trying to use this with my storm and it says the data files aren't recognized
Correction, I just tried another one and this one worked maybe it something to do with the length, the one that worked for me was 26sec
