I am not happy about this change either. I also want my call log to come up when I select the phone icon, and the dial pad to come up when I hit the green button. I hope RIM fixes this in the next OS release. Peace out!
Another "Call Log" issue i have is that it logs by contact, not by actual placed call. I would prefer that it log every single call rather then only the last number that the contact called in with.
