i noticed that last december crucialxtreme said that the 9520 was coming out soon. has it come out yet. and also, couldnt i get the same att 3g coverage if i had the 9500. or does the 9500 only have 3g data and not phone calls.
As far as I know, the 9500 and 9530 have the same internals so no the 9500 wouldn't be able to attain 3G speeds on AT&T. I'm not quite sure what you mean about 3G and no data...

well thats what i was thinking since the storm 2 is coming out "soon" i couldnt imagine them putting it out.... to answer the 3g i heard that the 9500 is able to have 3g data, as in text, and internet, but apparently not 3g telephone calls

I believe the difference between the 9500 and the 9530 is that the 9500 is GSM only while the 9530 is CDMA and GSM
so technically speaking if you were to have an unlocked 9530 running on att it would be considered a world phone, or would you not be able to utilize the cdma feature
The phone itself would be a world phone, but no, ATT won't let it run on CDMA. There are those who run a 9530 on TMO or ATT using EDGE. If ya want touch that bad or screen size or whatever, it's possible.

The Storm is a world phone regardless of it being locked or unlocked, as it will work on Verizon's CDMA networks in the US and GSM networks overseas. Unlocking it will allow you to use any SIM (not just VZW/Voda), so you can use an AT&T sim in the U.S. or a local sim overseas.
An unlocked 9530 on AT&T will still work on CDMA networks. You'll need to manually switch between the two, as you can't have both at the same time.

It's not that AT&T "won't let it run on CDMA" it's AT&T does not have a CDMA network. The Storm can run on both GSM and CDMA networks, and being on AT&T doesn't mean you can't easily switch to Verizon.
