I use the 517 base with 643 hybrid. Works pretty good. Or look for OOAK's 517/604 hybrid, I think that one is better. Either way, I have had trouble with the 607 OS even using it as a base for hybrids.

Stick with 517 or 517 hybrid.

I agree. I feel 517 is a far better OS when compared with 607. My end call button never worked with the 607, there was a terrible typing lag and the radio wasn't stable.

and I have 607 on my wife's phone and mine, and have NONE of the issues you just mentioned.

i bet u have a bunch of junk on your phone that we don't.

The issues he mentioned weren't from using the full .607, but from using .607 radio as the base for the .643 java, but it's been fixed already.

I agree though, that .517 is the better choice for the .643 java.

I had the full .607 and didn't really have many problems, just didn't see anything under 5% on the batt. drain and rebooting took EXTREMELY long, am seeing 1.5% on the battery with no use and reboot is 1-2 minutes if that.

I am using OOAK's 607/643 hybrid with no issues at all. I tried the 517/643 and I like the 607 version better. None of the issues above and I do not use Bmessenger, so no issues for me. So far so good.
