I had a lot of problems with .607 initially. After suffering through a lot of battery drain and apps that didn't work I removed all the apps. Battery drain went away. Fine. Added apps back one at a time (over a few days) and all the problems seemed to evaporate and battery drain is now 1 to 2%/hour which is acceptable.
I haven't reloaded Shazam yet...An email reply from their support a few days ago says that it doesn't work with .607. Anyone know any different on this? I really miss that app. It's the only one of mine that doesn't work, now.
I've been trying to downgrade to .517 from .607. I have not been sucessful. I have uninstalled .607 from my PC, reinstalled .517 on the PC, deleted the vendor file, wiped the phone, but when I go in install the OS (via DM), I only see .320 and .607. I've tried to load .517 via the loader.exe file and I've had no success. I've tried many time on Friday and Saturday. Can someone that was successful in downgrading to .517 please post the details of what you have done to downgrade? Thanks in advance for the help.
ok.. I have .607 and I do not like it. I'm experiencing a lot of bugs. I never had .517. How do I get that? Also how would I remove .607 from my phone?
Look for the SaskaTell 517 official link out here and download it. Install and delete the vendor.xml. backup phone and apps (use device switch wizard, best way, again search out here for how) then wipe the phone and install the 517 with BBDM. Make sure you uninstall any other OS on your PC before you install the 517.
I had some problems originally with 607. couldn't get them resolved even with hybrids. I ran OOAK's 517/604 and it was beautiful. But now on OOAK's 607/676 hybrid and everything seems to be working. No issues so far, but if I have any I will go back to the 517/604.
I just recently got my storm2 as well and never had 517 on it. As far as I know 517 didn't have the inbox settins in the mail app where I could check off what I wanted to see in the unified inbox. If I go back to 517 and then install a hybrid would I get that back? Is there anything else that would be missing?
god i cant wait until i get back to 517 actually ooakpc 517 hybrid but i gotta wit until sunday until i get to my in laws bc they have a pc and i cant run the bbdm on my mac since im still running tiger 10.4
^ is it true that the inbox cannot be configured on the 517 release for which account messages to include and which to exclude?
I have installed a few .517 hybrids and always could choose which email accounts go to the message folder. I'm currently running OOAK's 517/676 hybrid and have that choice in the options>inbox settings.

Have you tried using BBSAK to wipe and reload the OS? If 517 is installed on your PC using the Load OS function should get 517 on your S2.
