Ok, went back to 517 from 607 and am missing NOTHING!! The screen clicks easier, Google Map4 works GREAT. Meterberry is back to normal. The signal is more consistant (no dropped calls in a couple of low-signal areas). The downgrade was pretty easy. BBM is fine.
If you're still on 517, wait for a compelling reason to upgrade.
ok.. I have .607 and I do not like it. I'm experiencing a lot of bugs. I never had .517. How do I get that? Also how would I remove .607 from my phone?
I agree. I'm on a 517 hyrbid. My battery life is much better. It's about 1% per hour. I don't have an issue with Opera Mini.
I got 32 hours with just 10% drain. that's about .3%/hr. (on 607) and I'm not making that up. I never lie. I used my phone somewhat less than usual yesterday, which accounts for the super low drain. Usually I'm down about 15% by the end of one day which works out to under 2%/hr.

Download .517 and remove .607 from your computer. More instruction than that, someone else will have to give you. That's the extent of my expertise on downgrading, because I had a hard time getting DM or apploader to recognize .517.
I'm still using .428. Can anyone point me to a place where .517 can still be downloaded?
I'll wait for the improved version of 6xx.

Please don't ask me to put up a link. I can't do it right. But it's there. Lyricidal put up an installer for it.
Uninstall 607 from your pc (sorry Mac...I've no idea for you) using your control panel uninstaller
Download 517 and run the exe to install to your pc
Use Shrink-an-os to remove whatever you don't want on it
Back up your Storm using DM
Shut down DM
Wipe your Storm using BB Swiss Army Knife (may not be necessary but seems like a good idea for the downgrade)
Use "launch loader" from Shrink to load 517 onto the Storm
Go have lunch
Use DM to restore data and stuff onto your Storm
I needed to reload a few apps I hadn't been able to back up (BB Swiss Army Knife is having some trouble and is being reworked) such as Meterberry, OperaMini, Googlemaps 4, and a couple others; but most were able to be salvaged by DM.
Okay, so now I'm worried. I just went from .451 to .607, but I have had NO problems. Quickpull, BBM...all my apps are working just fine. Should I be looking for something specific? Even that worthless Google Maps (IMO) is working fine. In fact should one ask, the transition was seemless...like no change at all. Still have my .451 as a backup though.

Some people don't have problems......why would you be "looking" for one?
I don't like going backwards but it had to be done. I'm one of those people that has to have everything working (3rd party and all). I just got a replacement phone with .607 and too many quirks. Then tried .607/.612 (Tank's Act 3), not perfect. Although, I really like Tank's work, I think that the .607 base is just too problematic (at least for me). Next, tried using .612 java folder with .517 and it wasn't compatible. So I'm back where I started with .517/.553. I guess I'll be here until there's a base higher than .607 to try. Its a shame because I liked what I saw of the .600's OS.
Can someone kindly refer me to a step by step on how to install .517 and downgrade from .609?
Oh yeah, I'm on a Mac, do I need to use a Windows based DM?
I'm on a Mac as well, but it should be possible to install without Windows: http://forums.crackberry.com/f62/loa...-macdm-330667/ (I assume this would work for any OS, not just hybrids?)
That being said, does anyone have the files for .517 NOT in .exe form?
