Can anyone clarify this? Is it illegal? I'm going to start a post on this because this should be cleared up.
I just cleared it up. There is a reason it's called a "leak" or "beta". This is not official software. Again, if it was it would be up on RIM's site. This OS is not intended for public use.
i wouldn't say its illegal , its our device we own it we are allowed to download what we want on it, given , it is our responsibility , and if we screw it to **** then its our fault.

That's like saying you can download a movie on your computer using bittorrent because you own the computer and can download what you want on it.
I have downloaded the .85 version and tried using the desktop manager to install to my phone but alas it has not installed. I can't even get to open up in the application loader. the only things that show up in the window is .75 and .65. I cant seem to get it to load the new software even if I use the websl appliation. Any ideas?
I have been having a lot of problems with the .85 upgrade. How to I downgrade to .75?
download the desktop software, backup your blackberry, wipe the phone, upload .75, then restore your backed up configs. check the how to forums if you need more help
I'm on .85. My phone just crashed, the screen looks like a grainy rainbow of colors, if I stare at it long enough, I may see a picture of a dolphin or something.
So I loaded .85 right over .75 with no wipe and no issues. When I go into Options -> about it says .85 but when I loaded it in DM it says only 4.7? Also, there really is no noticeable difference in accelerometer.. or camera..
Should I just wipe and re-install because I was under the impression there would be significant improvements.
Usually when I find the phone starts getting "laggy" I check the memory and its in the low 20's. Today I started my day with 22MB free, but it was running ok. I ran the memory cleaner and got 24MB. Then I did a battery pull and got 41MB. So, after a day of a few phone calls, emails, SMS, viewing an attachment, changing GPS to E911 Only, some changes in my calendar and contacts, and a few levels of Nitaii. Now I'm sitting at 32MB. I usually do some web browsing, but today was a home office day, so the computer got to handle those duties. It sure seems like some work needs to be done on the OS for auto cleaning of the memory or preventing memory leaks. I'm not going to like pulling the battery everyday, especially with how long it takes to boot back up.
Come on RIM...adding a touch screen makes it so hard to write a decent OS? Verizon is going to see a lot more returns if RIM doesn't write a better OS.
