I got a new storm from VZW after my first one decided to become a personnel heater.
The past few days I have been trying to do a *228 update and it has not been working.
I tried both *228 option 2 and *22899. Both of them fail every time. Has this happened to anyone else?
I am on the .114 v3 hybrid. Any help would be great thanks!

Do they fail straight off or do you get into the call at all? Make sure you have a good signal when you call. Try a battery pull then give it a go when the phone first resets.

I have tried many battery pulls, but that dose not seem to fix it. I get into the call and the music starts then about 20 second in I get a busy tone and then get disconnected and a prompt saying that activation was unsuccessful .

I might be wrong, but is it possible *228 won't update a non official OS? Just a thought.

That is what I think, but I could of swore that I had updated my other phone with a leaked OS on it before.... who knows I may just be crazy, but that is why I posted here to see if *228 will work on non official a Non-official OS or if that capability was taken out of the hybrid to "slim it down"

I had a similar problem with my samsung saga, before I went to the storm, and I did a hard reset and fixed the problem. I also had a problem with *661 or *611, which ever number to call verizon support, working. I had to do 2 hard resets before that one worked. Good luck.

I did *228 before I upped to .113 and hadn't done it since. Just tried and it started and then about 10 secs in went to fast busy signal and was unsuccessful.

Guess it's a no go while running a beta

I'm running the .114 V3 hybrid and it let me do *228 to update my roaming just fine right now. Maybe you need to reinstall the OS?

I just updated via *228 and everything went through fine....

Went I first got my storm and was running .75 for some reason it would do the same thing ya'll are describing...I called VZW and after a few hours of trying to figure out what it was, it ended up being a "onstar" issue that I previously had on my account, but it had been a year or so since I had that onstar...the reps told me if there is anything else on your account that requires a verification before you change/modify your plan then *228 won't work when you try to program or updated roaming???
