You should be able to put the removed files folder in the java folder and then use the shrink an os from lyricidal to put i back in.

If this is your first hybrid or you're confused... go here http://forums.crackberry.com/f132/n0...source-213706/

For best results, I recommend wiping first..(but not necessary, although there may be a slight chance of memory leaks "better safe than sorry").If you aren't comfortable with this, DON'T.... if you are, refer here:http://forums.crackberry.com/f132/n0...source-213706/

Download from megaupload.... put it into your .148 folder "or make your own"

Take the "removed files" folder and put it into the java folder... run shrink os http://forums.crackberry.com/f132/sh...icidal-193905/ select "put it back"

Next, run shrink a os again, removing what you want. Then load your os.

    EASY PEASY!!

-It never hurts to read directions and take those skills with you!

Which files are needed for the ringtones?

in your java folder, they look like this:

    net_rim_bb_medialoader_ringtones_9500.cod

or with shrink os, just check or uncheck default ringtones

Sorry to be a pain, but if I just drop that file into the Java folder and reload the OS, will that give me exactly what I have now plus the ringtones?

... well, the straight .rar file has the "removed files" lon the outside of the java... inside those removed files are some other files needed to install the os...... atleast thats how it was for me..

be my guest and try to load it like that.. if it doesn't work.. you need to do the whole shrink-a-os thing as this os was crudely packaged!

All of my hybrid for as long as I've been making them have been slimmed down to reduce the amount of memory on the phone consumed by the OS. Place the COD files from the removed files folder into the java folder, place the alx files in the 148 folder with the others. This will get you what you want.

This megaupload link is the next test hybrid? How does it compare (better or worse) to your last test version?

so, what exactly have you fixed in this one? I mean, less 5.0 files aside, what different effects should it have?

After running .148 for over a week, my only nags were going in and out of lock, and every now and again the keyboard got laggy or especially Opera would freeze on launch, to the point of a battery pull.

So far, I have not seen any of these bugs with OOAKPC's, AND I really love that 5.0 fonts..

+1 on the 5.0 fonts. Big plus for me with the hybrid vs. the standard .148.

Did you run the first beta as well or just straight .148 and the second beta? I'm debating whether or not to try the 2nd beta because I like all the 5.0 files lol

First beta seemed weak on the memory management, but that was after only a day, in all fairness, it takes about three to see the real deal.
I too like the added 5.0 files, but I need consistent because I still have to use my BB for work..

Sorry I haven't been around to answer questions, been at work.

Anyways to sum it all up, more bbcmv6, more things from my end, and less 5.0.

Its much improved over the first version as it was apparently too much 5.0.

Files react differently depending on what else the hybrid consists of so it takes a lot of trial and error. But versions two is a step in the right direction
