    What the heck?

    SanDisk - 16GB microSDHC Memory Card - SDSDQ-016G-AB11M

    Wow and it's only a Class 2!

So I found this on flea bay!

16GB MICROSD MEMORY CARD FOR BLACKBERRY STORM 9500 9530 - eBay (item 220294346236 end time Jan-11-09 00:17:47 PST)

16GB MICROSD MEMORY CARD FOR BLACKBERRY STORM 9500 9530 - eBay (item 120350042500 end time Jan-13-09 04:51:21 PST)

    Both are Class 2.

I wonder how much BestBuy is going to charge for the 32GB, when it comes out.

I have read more then once members here @ CB are waiting for the "prices to drop". Hummmmm prices don't "drop" on items like this do they?

Unfortunately, 99 is the price I paid for mine (minus a 10% discount for getting it with the Storm at Best Buy) But when the 32 comes out, I will be shopping around!

SanDisk is not producing 16Gb Class 4 or 6 cards in the microSDHC format at the moment.

One of two things will happen to speeds.

1). Class 4 and 6 cards will appear later this year
2). SanDisk will ignore Class 4 and 6 and will simply produce cards that exceed both specs.

Look at my thread on microSD cards which is in my signature. I have a post near the end that shows a SanDisk document explaining this for normal SD cards but microSDHC cards will follow suit, I thnk.

Prices will drop when SanDisk and others get their investment costs back. 32Gb cards will also appear this year but these may have lots of competition since it is possible economically to join up 4 x 8Gb cards to make one quite slow 32Gb card. Expect some disapointed posts when that happens.

Then I guess I should take my wife's suggestion and hold off a bit. Heck I haven't filled the 8 yet. But I do like carrying a lot of South Park with me.

In 3+ months, these cards will drop quick. Any media format that is just released, it will drop quick. When the 8GB was released, it was over $200 or so. In a couple of months, you can get it for as cheap as $14

Best Buy is charging $100 for the 16GB...by June or so, it will be down to $50 and by years end, it will be $20

If you're the person who wants OEM and not fake, I would avoid eBay. Thats the #1 place you wouldnt want to get your legit media accessories.

If you're the type that dont care so as long it works, eBay is fine. Just know that you may have problems.

Can the Storm read faster than Class 2? Last I heard the verdict was still out on that...

This is the 3rd card I have bought from eBay and i have never received a counterfeit card. the main thing is to buy from a reputable seller (Look at their feedback b4 buying) and make sure they are in the US. Typically those that ship out of Hong Kong are fakes.
