Verizon Support Location for Blackberry Software Upgrades: ( Personal Email ) NOT Enterprise users!

    BlackBerry® Software Updates
"BlackBerry Device Software v4.7 (updated 12/5/2008)"
I'd rather have the new version, not the one from last year.

Im having a heck of a time getting it to download. Went to DM first but it was saying I needed to contact IT department (its my personal phone, not on Enterprise server) then I decided to do it through Wireless upgrade but its been an hour and has only gone 20 percent. I tried going back to DM but then it said there were not any updgrades available

    any ideas!? Thanks!

I guess I shouldn't plan on doing anything important on my BB on the 3rd. VZW's network is probably going to be totally hosed doing update downloads...

With 800+ MB of free device data, why is it asking me to delete 19 MB of "personal" data to perform the download?

What personal data can I delete?

I'm on original 0.75. Stock theme.

Yes, I've done a couple battery pull restarts.

    Thanks!

My battery life has drastically changed. I would go a full 16 hours on .075 and already today 7 hours into my work day on .148 my battery is dead. I made no changes and was normal usage. I have done 3 battery pulls since downloading .148. Batter life is important to me so its one thing I am not that happy about.

Battery pulls drain the battery pretty quickly. Give the OS a couple/three days to settle in.

According to MeterBerry...I lose between 7-11% of my battery each and every time I do a batterypull/quickpull/reset etc...

downloaded via DM and no probs.

today battery already at 1/2 strength. found out why. the screen keeps turning on and off every minute or so. i hit the lock button and a minute later the screen comes on without hitting any buttons and its magically unlocked. then it fades to black and comes back on. not sure what is going on. whoops...just did it again in the time i typed this

    what gives?

I currently don't have quickpull- but the reset on quicklaunch application is not working either. Is this a known issue??
BTW- I just downloaded OTA in 37 min.- didn't lose any of my many 3rd party apps. -at least none that I notice yet. All my settings are saved also. The only issue I am having is with it not resetting. Guess I will have to pry my incipio feather off and do a real life battery pull.

i'm curious to know if anyone else notices their storm fading on and off. i just did a quickpull and locked it once it came up and so far it hasn't randomly cut back on. i think it just needed to get restarted.

on the plus side i've never had more than 27-28mb of memory when i restart and i have 33-35mb now.

i hope verizon keeps putting out updates now that they grew a set.

Took about 15 mins in total for the update to load onto the phone. That includes the download.

I can not believe how much better then .75 this is.

Guess I should have downloaded the leaks.....oh well live and learn.

loading the 148 takes not more than 30 minutes, you get none of the problems you mention and you have the exact same OS as what the official is
