Anyone having an issue with the new os and the battery temperature. I'm using mine as usual and my temperature gets above 100 degrees. When on .75 it never got up beyond the 80's during normal use

    Any suggestions

    Thanks in advance

    Cool.

Well in that case, I've yet to "feel" a temperature change.

If you're looking fore Meterberry, it is an application that has to be downloaded.

    It IS NOT pre-installed.

    Nah.

Just a newbie to the world of Smartphones, I presume.

No worries. Most of the Storm owners are. I know I am.

Can any one shed some insight on this battery temperature issue. Should I just downgrade to .75 or get a refurb. Don't want either choice had no problems with this storm after 4 of them.

    Thanks

something is definitley up with the battery and 148. no one can change my mind otherwise. I have not changed anything on my phone at all between update from .132 to verizon 148 and the temperature is much hotter and also my battery drain is much worse. I litteraly have had nothing running for the last 2 hours after a battery pull and my battery has dropped from a full 100% charge to 81% just sitting on my desk. Nothing running , nothing different. All I got was a few emails and thats it.

    Quite annoyed right now.

Nothing is wrong with the phone but should a battery run at 90 to 100 degrees. Is it safe I guess would be the question

I have meterberry and .148 and my battery temp is showing 76* my Storm has been on since 5am this morning.
I have no issues with battery life since upgrading I am running the stock Verizon theme and only 3 apps and would consider myself a moderate user.

yep same issue here, i just upgraded to .148 and battery dies much faster than usual without any usage. also running very hot when using. I think something is up with .148 i might have to go back to .103 which worked very well for me.

I too have noticed that the device is warmer on 148 than it was o 75. Both the circuitry and the battery. I have also noticed that it seems to be running a bit "smoother" and that the memory seems to be managed better. These are both activities that will cause the processor to do more work and thus - wait for it! - cause it to use more energy. Which comes from the battery. Which turns into heat in both places.

103?? try the install again and you might be having issues with a 3rd party app because there are plenty of good builds past 103 and they should work just fine

mine is 77 right now, i have seen mine up to 110 before too. It depends on the ambient temps too and what you are doing. GPS usage i think makes the temp go way up IMO.

I had the same problem going from .75 to .141 and then to .148. This is what fixed it for me:

Go to Options/Mobile Network and select "1XEV" under Network Technology. Apparently the "Global" setting is only needed if you leave the states.

If you have Weatherbug, turn off the GPS location feature. It keeps trying to get a fix of your location in the background. Not sure why it wasn't a problem in .75

Do multiple battery pulls (don't ask me why...)

    Hope this helps.

No GPS running just normal e-mail and texting with an occasional phone call.

I thought I was just imagining it but now that you mention it, the back of my Storm does feel considerably warmer since I upgraded. My battery life is better though; not worse.

My battery is much worse with .148 than it was with .75. I have an extra battery not really concerned. Just concerned with the temp
