Any time after 3PM Eastern, go to this link on your computer, plug your phone into the computer, and click the Continue button button on the web page. The DM should launch and tell you the update is available, follow the onscreen instructions from there.

OK Went to the BB update page and did the update thing. The message I got was; BlackBerry 4.7.0.153 for 9530 (current). Version 4.7.0.109.
Went to options, about, and got; v4.7.0.109 (platform 4.0.0.136).
Is this the latest?

No, sounds like you installed the 109 leak on your phone, so DM is showing it as the current version. It's not quite noon yet (3PM Eastern, I'm Pacific) so I don't think it's available just yet.

Are you on T-Mo like your profile says? 148 may not be a good update for you.

quick pull is acting weird. clicked on icon and it went to portrait mode with a keyboard below it. kind of odd. got it to reboot since i just got .148. big tin can buzz me just popped up asking for permission to make changes etc...i clicked view and now its frozen. just seems to be locking up at weird times.

The storm is not a bad phone. I think people just expect everything the same as the iPhone. The storm does not = the iPhone and the iPhone does not = the storm.

I prefer the storm over any touch screen so far...

and I have owned a few of them...

However I want a qwerty so my storm will turn into my weekend warrior device

I hear what you are saying and for the most part I agree. I love my Storm and have not expected it to be an "iphone" or similar device. I do expect it to function like a blackberry however and the lag, as well as the freezing of the OS make it a frustration at best.

I would like to see Rim/Verizon whoever develope a stable operating system. It doesnt have to work magic, i dont need flick scrolling and it not does it need to rival any other phone with a touch screen...it just has to work.

I am sure that we have all had some experiance with this and its annoying when you are working on email (blackberries are workhorses when it comes to email) and it crashes. Sure I could have a Bold or a different BB, but I like the storm and what it has potentially to offer - when it works.

Just upgraded with DM and had to manually restore the backup. Did a battery pull. Will update with findings shortly.

Just went to do the update via RIM and it detects that I already have the latest update even though it is 148 platform 181 instead of platform 203 so I guess it doesn't matter
