I know I went to math class and after .99 comes 1.0 as in 4.7.1.0 so someone tell me if I am wrong

In math, you are correct. However, the people who write the software can do whatever they want with the version numbers.

In this case, it's not a sequential decimal notation.

the decimal points are a delineator, not an indication of decimal position.

in math we don't have multiple decimal points in numbers, eh?

Look at other versions of bb. You'll see (for example) 4.6.0.263.

They wont do 4.7.1.xx untul there is aignificant revision of the software and probably not till the next touch screen device.

For example all of the Bold OS's are 4.6.0.xxx while the new Curve is 4.6.1.xxx

Looks like you went to math class, not programming class

If you followed other threads on this same question, you'd know that 4.7.1.xx is quite likely to be the version numbering for a different BB device.

That is basically what I said only with a qualifier. The 4.6 devices are that way but all of the 4.5 devices (Curve, Perl, 8830 beta) are 4.5.0.x versioning so it is not an exact science. In all likely hood we wont see 4.7.1.x until the Storm 2 or whatever they choose to call it.

No problem, been there many times myself ;-)

Only reason I'm still up is an irrational hope for .109 to leak tonight . . . .
