Should I need to install each update?
No, each update is the full OS, and therefore cotains any fixes from previous updates.
I wouldn't go past .75
I installed the leak .8x OS(s). and have now gone back to .75
Out of the gate .83 & 5 are awesome, but than they slowly bare their head.
- display never dimmed thus battery was next to nothing
- weird phone errors, not working properly
- whenever I placed my phone down, it went to landscape mode. (i know it's minor, but this bugged the **** out of me)
- overall performance started to depreciate over time
.75 for me has been solid with next to no errors or bugs
yes the video camera still acts up, but i think that is a whole other subject that rim/vrz needs to address.

Try the .85, for me is being the best one so far
.85 is good out of the gate but like above to has issues after a while. I will wait for the new one before upgrading or go back to .75
I never had restart/media card/splash screen issues until .85 - went back to .83
I have had it for both but for some reason I have had not seen it for about a week or so.
I agree 100% I had installed all the leaked OS's, and after constantly having to pull the battery with .85, I have gone back to the official .75 with NO problems so far. I am sticking with official updates.
Jim Norton!? Did you finally ditch that iphone???
It is amazing how our experiences can be so different. I have gone from .65 to .75, no wipe and it worked great. Then did a wipe and went to .83 when it leaked, again no problems. The day after .85 leaked, I installed following a wipe and it works great and seems to get better with time.
oh uncle paul!
i went from .75 to .85
I had to downgrade to .75 then upgrade to .85 in order for my device to work flawless. When I did an intial wipe I had lot of memory leaks after doing the process above no issues. Had to the samething wheniu had my 8830
I have never wiped. I have upgraded from 0.65-0.75=0.83-0.85 and have never had significant problems. I do, as I have done with every smartphone I have had, reboot every morning and I am parsimonious about which 3rd party apps I will load.
Wait a minute...is this THE JIMMY ROBINSON, uh I mean Jim Norton? Was that longer than average walk over to XM the trip to the gallow's for the iPhone? Is there actually a fancy entertainer on the Crackberry.com forums?
Glad to see the cocktail is working and say hello to the last two or three T-cells for me...God speed man, God speed.

You can download .75 from Ted's pirated mobile phone software emporium! OS .85 was on the way, but the boat capsized in the Indian Ocean...
i dont think a fancy man would put his verizon pin on a public website. unless its to kennys phone. HEY, YOU GOT ANOTHER BLACKBURRRY MESSAGE.
i just bumped up from .85 to .86 without any issues. still havent done a full format or anything on it yet. running great.
I currently have .83. With .86 out, is it worth the upgrade, or should I wait?
I guess each phone is diffrent. While .85 worked for some, it gave me major problems. As a result, I downgraded to .75. I loaded .86 this morning, and I am running great. It is up to you, but I always like upgrading. If it doesn't work out, you can always go back down and wait for a better build to come out.

Yeah, It's just a pain for me to upgrade b/c I'm on a BES and I need to Reactivate every time I upgrade. I also need to retype my passwords for all 6 of my other email accounts too. It's a pain, so I'm just hesitant to upgrade and then roll back when I haven't had too many issues with .83. I wish there was a place (maybe there is and I just don't know) that listed the fixes and differences between each OS. If the rewards are great enough, I'd upgrade.
