I know there are Storms out there that are Wi-Fi enabled. I am a (semi) unfortunate Verizon Storm user. I was wondering, is Wi-Fi something that needs to be built into the phone, or can it be added? I just want to know whether to have hopes for Wi-Fi someday or to just never think twice about it. I lurk these forums a lot, and agree with most people when they say Wi-Fi is obviously not a selling point for Verizon Storm users, or else we wouldn't have gotten the phone. The 3G network is f***ing fast, so I have no complaints, but Wi-Fi would be very cool.

I guess if someone made a micro usb wifi dongle and wrote drivers for it for the storm then sure. But that doesn't exist.

I believe the USB port would have to be a USB Host port. I am thinking the Storm has a simple device port, I could be wrong. But I don't think the Storm is designed with hooking up peripherals in mind.

i wa looking into the micro sd wifi card and even found someone to make the drivers for it but he wanted me to buy him a storm, the card, and give him money so he could write the drivers needed. I was'nt comfortable handing a stranger a storm, a wifi microsd card and money. However he did believe it could be done. The guy that would have done it does the wireless keyboards for smart phones and blackberry's.

The term term/phrase "iPhone killer" is stupid. Im sorry but why does every phone have to "kill" the iPhone...

iPhone, for some perspectives, is the icon to the new era of smart/entertaining phone, hence so many manufacturers are trying to get share from the iPhone by making their devices smarter, entertaining friendly, etc.

To get more share --> to get more money

I also think it may be more or less true to the Storm.

If you look at the ss of some of the storm themes, the screen indicates wi-fi.

Actually.... there is a flying car getting built/prototype. One day..... Anyways, the only real feature I feel the storm is missing is the WiFi. With it I would be set for a long long time

I would like someone to design a WiFi card that can go into the SIM card slot. I'm not planning on leaving the US any time soon, so I don't need that stupid card... would be the perfect spot for it, instead of losing your memory by using the microSD WiFi slot.

Too bad that thing's discontinued... and only about $50 US! I'm going to keep my eyes open for it, but I'd still rather have the SIM card - WiFi card. Don't need to carry that into the bar with me to use WiFi

Thats because those screen shots are from the simulator NOT the phone. The phone does not have wi-fi but the theme's support it so the simulator shows it.
