    I don't think it will be free. I do think it will be competitively priced against the G-Phone and iPhone though.

    Now that the ALLTEL acquisition is approved, VZW will net a large gain in subscribers, making them top-dog. They can't shave their margins too much in the face of the huge money about to be spent on that.

    OK in the UK most better carriers (Vodafone, O2, Orange) give free phones in the very beginning when they come out of course only if you chose the more expensive plan for 2 years, and believe me plans aren't as good as here.
    Oh its free only on a new contact.
