Who will be selling their Storm for a Niagara??
- I will be keeping my Storm.
Even though I am on my 5th replacement, I would not want to give up the larger screen. I love the touch screen and I came from a Voyager so I have had other touch screens.
When I went to the Verizon Store to order my 5th repacement, the rep. asked if I wanted to switch to another phone. To which I replied "to what?", the rep had no reply.04-04-09 09:32 PMLike 0 -
- Call me crazy but I love the Storm. I'm a sucker for the underdog devices (as far as people comparing this to the iPhone). I don't think this is a sub-par device by any means. It just has to have the OS catch up. I was always a fan of the Sega Dreamcast, the Neo Geo, and others of the like. It's fun to have the new stuff though. I might be interested in the new touchscreen with keyboard BB if it comes to Verizon however. We will see what that retails at and how refined it is.04-05-09 03:20 AMLike 0
- I can't stand qwerty keyboards. I LOVE huge touchscreens. Especially if it works well and the Storm's touchscreen is awesome.04-05-09 09:31 AMLike 0
- In general my 50 year old eyes would rather have the Storm screen than a physical keyboard.
The work you do might make the difference. I don't live and die to text and type a lot but the calendar and reading messages are a big deal. Thus, the big screen is important.
I may also have more and less patience than some because I do sys admin work so I deal with different phones, different carriers etc... They all have their issues.
Now don't shoot if I don't see an official Verizon/RIM upgrade from .75 in my 9 remaining days to return or exchange the phone and know that a time and billing solution will influence that more or as much as any RIM offering.04-05-09 09:58 AMLike 0 - i am thinking of doing this...any word on full retail for Niagara yet?
i am so mad i used my upgrade to get the Storm. I have gotten used to it but i just miss a keyboard. Does anyone think if i cry to Verizon enough (and since I have been a customer for about 10 years) they will give me the upgrade price as long as I extend my contract??04-05-09 09:59 AMLike 0 - My wife has the Storm, which I consider to be a consumer device.
I'm planning on getting the Niagara on VZW (personal) or Sprint (work - replacing 8703e) since I need (sorry - prefer) the physical keyboard.
And to those who "need Wi-Fi" on a BlackBerry, c'mon. This is not meant to compare with pure consumer devices and/or replace a computer. 3G data (w/ tethering capability included with my service) is far more important to me than Wi-Fi (which, incidentally, all of my computers have).04-05-09 10:25 AMLike 0 -
- i had the storm when it came out couldnt stand the lag so i returned it and went to the curve on my upgrade curve of course was very stable but i love the big screen on the storm and the music is much louder and what can i say it catches peoples eye lol so i went back to the storm on my mom's upgrade and kept the curve as well the storm irritates me sometimes but i still love it and i probably wont go to the niagara 1 im out of upgrades from different people to use lol and 2 i really love my storm screen and wat not ...so once verizon gets the storm up and running almost flawless with the right OS i will be perfectly fine with my storm like others say the storm has crazy potential in the future04-06-09 02:17 PMLike 0

Im keeping my Storm, I love it and haven't had any major issues with it, love the big screen...I would only trade it for the Storm 2!Last edited by califjewls; 04-06-09 at 04:36 PM.
04-06-09 04:26 PMLike 0 - I copied this off if the review on the blogs. Whats wrong with the memory?
Memory - Memory is a bit of a hardware/software thing, so we'll cover it here. In our last review we said that the guts of the 9630 are basically that of the Storm. And that's true in the case of the processor and radio. One area that's different though is MEMORY. While the Bold and the Storm have 128 megs of device memory (for OS, apps, emails, browser cache to reside), the BlackBerry 9630 takes after the Curve 8900 and offers double the memory. Instead of having 30 - 45 megs of free space for apps like the Storm has by default, the 9630 has roughly 130 megs free. More memory is always better!
While the 9630 has double the app memory of the Storm, it does not have the 1 gig of built-in device memory for ringtones, movies, etc. No big deal though...that's what memory cards are for.
