When its in sleep mode or whatever, how do i make the screen lite up when i get an email or text? because sometimes i don't hear it and i rather see or feel it vibrate. thanks

The screen won't light up, sorry.

The blackberry isn't like your old v cast devices vzw usually has. You don't get screen pops. The LED will flash red per default settings. And get a badass ringtone that is loud. I prefer short movie quotes
"LOUD NOISES!"
"you mean ireland? Yeah, its mine"
Transformers sounds*
Etc.

And be ready the vibrate unit isn't a motorboat like my env was. Sometimes strategically placing the phone on a surface to amplify the vibrate helps.

Aerize Alerts will bring the screen alive. It's a 3rd party app and cost 10 bucks but you can try it for free for a week. It's a great app.

also, you could try the ring & vibe app. It's not free, but you can find it here in the Crackberry Store.

As for changing the tone. Just go to your profiles and scroll down to set ringtones/alerts. Select that and change your tones from there.
