Wondering if anyone can help me....

I've installed Google Maps v.3.0.2 - but when I go to open it, it starts but then a second later it just shuts down, almost as if something is blocking it.

Anyone experiencing something similar? Can anyone offer any suggestions?

    Thanks!

I'd do the battery pull thing and let us know how that works.

Are you still using a curve? Is so i have not experienced this because verizon still has the GPS locked on the curve to everything but BB maps and VZ nav. If you are on a storm go to options>advanced options>applications>highlight google maps>menu button>disable compatibility mode

    OK -

I've done just about all that has been suggested:

    - uninstalled, reinstalled
    - battery pull
    - checked to make sure it compatability mode was disabled, etc.

    Still doesn't work.

But here's a new question - in my folder where the software is, there are 2 icons for maps, one that says Google Maps, and one that just says Maps. I was assuming that the "Maps" one was the Blackberry maps, but when I looked at the "about" aspect of the software it said it was google. Would this mean that I actually do have it but it's just listed in the other icon?

Also , I'm interested in the Google Maps/Latitude functionality where I can see where friends are located in the map. Any suggestions on how to fix it all???

I DO appreciate all your helpful responses. Thanks!

    OK -

When I try opening Google Maps, the same thing still happens - it just seems to shut down after a second or two (while it looks like its trying to load).

I've also done the edit permissions and allow all, but the same thing still happens....

Keep 'em comin' guys & gals...I'm sure we'll figure it out sooner or later!

OK, my latest trial and error efforts has shown me something new. After re-doing alot of what is listed above, when I tried opening Google Maps, I got a quick error message saying something about

Access denied - and something about "Location Data Permission"

Would this shed any new light?

Again, thanks for all your help trying!

Try deleting the app and reinstalling. Make sure you accept the defaults. That may resolve.
