What are *WE* suppose to do.
- Well for those of us that are with different companies other than Verizon: What are some options we have in order to get a Storm and get it to work (unlocked) with our provider.
Price :
I'm under the impression that the retail price without a (2yr) contract will be $399.99
Unlockable :
Maybe!?!? who knows....
Resolution :
If all fails, and Verizon's Storm isn't unlockable....
Then
I will just grab a unlocked Bold (At&t) for now (assuming the retail price isn't horrible) and wait a few months down for the Touch screen Berry to appear on a different network.

- WOW look at the bold's price :
bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=9062382&st=bold&type=product&id= 1218014206238#tabbed-customerreviews10-28-08 04:28 PMLike 0 - I just don't think they will have nearly the sale numbers if they keep pricing their phones as high as the bold. I was reading around today on some older articles that stated that the G1 phone and the iphone may be lowering their prices (with contract) even further if necessary. I didn't see anything with no-contract pricing moving around though....
If RIM wants to get into the consumer market, their pricing needs to be comparable or better than these other companies.10-28-08 04:39 PMLike 0 -
- Yeah, I saw that when I was looking at using my NE2 for the Storm. I decided against it and just to get the Curve, since I won't be paying anything for it after the $100 off and the $75.00 MIR with a new contract. Then I'll give the 8830WE to the wife, and when her contract is up, I'll use her NE2 for another curve so she'll stop YELLING at me that she MUST HAVE A CAMERA PHONE! ((She has used the camera on her current phone 2x and had it for over 1.5 years!!))10-28-08 04:44 PMLike 0

but if they want to compete with the iphone, Verizon should be smart about it.. 320-70MIR is what im hoping for.
the voyager is like 410 now retail. when it first came out it was closer to 470.. nowhere near over the $500 mark though10-28-08 04:49 PMLike 0 - Crucial_XtremeRetired ModeratorThe Bold is $459.99 at AT&T. Of course the Storm will be cheaper at Verizon than at Best Buy, as Best Buy rips people off. If you want a 9530, just buy it full retail at Verizon, it won't cost as much as at Best Buy.10-28-08 04:58 PMLike 0
