if you go into settings under mobile network...which network technology is the best to use? mine was set as gsm/umts but i changed it to 1xev and feel like ive noticed an improvement. are there any advantages/disadvantages to each?

1EXV, within the 50 states. If you go out of the country, then switch to "global".

Not possible that it was set to UMTS when you got it. Verizon is CDMA, and if you set it to GSM, it would not work in the US.

so having it set to gsm/umts is for automatically switching when overseas?

mine's on "Global" right now. i'm in the US, so would there be any benefit to changing it to "1XEV"?
