The PIN is a unique four hexadecimal number that uniquely identifies you BlackBerry. It may be viewed by selecting Options, Status and viewing the 8 digits that may up the PIN.
The PIN is used for various functions requiring unique phone identifcation from enabling and directing emails, SMS, etc. to your phone verifing software registration and of course, BBM messages.
and it is the greatest way to have a conversation with someone that never shows on the phone bill. That leads to less questions that have to be answered in the long run =)
