This is definitely at play here. Even a "worry-free guarantee" can be abused, and it just makes it that much more difficult for people with legitimate problems.
There is a legitimate issue with the screen on some of our storms. I had mine replace because my click in the corners was not responsive. They replaced my phone without question. Both of my storms had the same part number but the replacement clicks much better. I have also heard of folks having the screen issue with both part numbers.

I just kept mentioning my Girlfriend has the same phone and has no problems.
I even went as far as saying I noticed hers was made in Mexico and mine in Canada. This seemed to be the deal maker in getting a new phone overnighted......
