    everyone has always told me to use 1XEV as my network technology, when i've tried to switch to 2g&3g or just 3g, my phone can't find a mobile network,
    i'm on verizon with a 9530 unfortunately,

    they are correct, VZW only supports 3G/1XEV. the other settings are for GSM only which wont work for VZW at all

    yes 3G/IXEV is the same. Its just not displayed as 3G on the device like that
