If a freiend was going to let me use their upgrade does the friend has to activate the upgrade on their line before passing it to me or can they just out her upgrade directly on my line? I assume they can put it on my line directly without putting it on hers because its her phone and she can do whatever she want with it...

Is there a way that i can do a esn change on my own by programming my phone without calling or going to a verizon store?

1. Yes, if they got it on an upgrade then they need to activate it on their line first. Then you can move it over to your line.
2. You can do an esn change by dialing *228 option3, or you can go online to your my verizon account and change it there.

ok does 1 of the phones need to be deactivated before doing a esn change?
