Hi there, hope someone can help me with this!
Ok, so I think I have an unlocked Storm 9530, originally on Verizon, the reason I think it is unlocked, is that I am unable to enter an MEP2 unlock code on the phone, and I get no bad sim etc. comments. (This has been verified by the Verizon specialist in the US from whom I bought the sim)
As you probably know, this is a dual network type phone, and as I had no luck using the GSM segment, using a Tmobile or Vodafone UK sim, I thought I would get a Verizon sim and access the Preferred Network list (Have tried "Global", & GSM settings). Once done, I added T mobile UK, and Vodafone UK, but still cannot get the phone to recognise the GSM signal.
I get "Searching for GSM..." followed by the antenna "X" or "no service" followed by "Manual Mode". Am I out of luck? or can I get this phone to work at least in 2G? Having read various forums, I suspect I am out of luck, because the GSM segment may only be to allow "additional" network for Verizon while travelling / roaming, not to allow me to use my TMobile sim as the main form of network use... Please confirm. (Have a fully charged battery etc.)
