Of course it's glass. Calling RIM a liar is pretty arrogant if you ask me.

No one is calling RIM liars. but until we saw the video of CES911 keying the **** out of the screen we didnt know if it would scratch or not. i didnt want to chance carrying it in my pocket without a screen protector until i knew it was safe. fact is if it doesnt need a screen protector then why get one??

I had a screen protector on mine and just yesterday I took it off. I purchased the protectors from VZ

    Reasons
    1. Protector made the screen less brilliant.
    2. Screen not as responsive with the protector on.
    3. Harder to clean the finger print smudges with the protectors on.

Hope this helps with those that are ambivilent about whether or not to purchase these protectors. My verdict: Save your 9.99.

The one thing I feel was a great purchase with my 9.99 was the cloth that came in the package.

I was pertaining to the people who said the the screen was plastic and not glass. Even though RIM themselves stated it was glass.

I mean its still good to have ghost armour i suppose in case you drop the phone or somethin, but if you just have the silicone case or somethin, its good to know the screen wont scratch if you pocket it without a protector.

Thanks to mattymatt for the post and briances for the video.
I've been hating my verizon screen protectors but after all the scratched up 8830's I went thru I didn't want to take any chances.

I don't even carry keys in my pocket much less a rambo knife. Watched the video, removed vzw protector, and now I feel much better about the storm.

Can't watch the video at work but Glass WILL scratch.

It is good to know that what seems to be normal use such as keys or coins rubbing against it, won't cause a scratch.

I'm taking a chance, leaving the rest of my ghost armor on but removing it from the screen. I like GA but I do prefer the look of the screen without the GA on. If it does scratch I will get a replacement and go back to the GA on the screen.
