Can anyone tell me what the button on the top of the phone that looks like a speaker with a slash through it does? I've pressed it and searched for it's function and can't seem to find anything about it.

Right on, thanks. I always thought it was for changing the ring profile, like pressing the speaker button on the homescreen to mute the volume or turn on the vibe or change the ringers and such.

I wish we could map a function to that mute button -that has to be the most worthless feature on the phone.

In older software version you can press it when locked to change to vibrate only. I've read that no longer works with newer features (whether intentional or not).

It pauses music and videos in the media player and switches to vibrate when locked well at least in .75 that's one of the reasons I downgraded because .113 cant be real if it disables that function doesn't make sense to me.

Didn't know it did anything while the phone was locked. Glad I asked though, I could use that feature.

When I press the Mute button on my Storm, the movie The Miracle Worker stats playing.

That's because its not the mute button like these people keep saying. It pauses and un pauses whatever media you had playing.

Button still toggles between ring and vibrate, however the phone needs to be in a holster and in sleep mode.
