Had the same problem with my Storm the first week I had it. I called Verizon tech support, they had me turn off my phone and they reset my text features. Then turned my phone back on and it was fixed, haven't had a problem since. Good luck
Also remember today or well 2 hours ago was Christmas and everyone is SMSing everyone. Might be a slight delay. Also try a battery pull that fixes almost any issue.
