I would try it unfortunately I'm without a phone for the time being. Will try tomorrow when I get my replacement. Would love to see what other people get. I actually remember that site. I've used it to test my PC/Cable speed.
I kept getting 'too fast a result', worked my way up to a 1m file and still said it. Had to use diferent ones (I tried two here in the UK) and got 796k/sec and 838k/sec.
Maybe Vodafone do get something right

I tried it is said unstable/tofast need larger file biggest file is 1mbif u set your browser to ie it worKs

I just recently downloaded a file from YOUSENDIT. It was a 22.8 MB mp3 file (Gilbert Gottfried-Dirty Jokes).
The average download speed was about 12-13 MB/Sec.
IS this the kind of speed most people are getting?
I found a mobile speed tester on-line. It seems to be able to test the theoretical speed of your 3G network.
These sites don't work (accurately/correctly) with BBs or any other proxying browsers. You're seeing inflated/unstable results due to either RIM's proxies or Opera's proxies. If during tethering you bypass proxies (I don't know for sure as I don't tether), then you may get more accurate results.
Although, actually, AFAIK, the BB browser is a true browser rather than a offsite render browser like Opera Mini.
BB Browser goes through RIM's proxies, which skews the results just like Mini. But Opera's proxies IMHO provide much better optimizations and speed (with the price of misrendering some pages).
Someone needs to set up a file someplace that is huge. Then you can time the download to see how fast everyone can download that file. Anyone have a stopwatch?
