So, I previously had a Bold 9000, but I got rid of it in favour of an iPhone 3G, I've had the iPhone for about a month now... but all of the sudden I've started to crave a CrackBerry again. So I'm wondering if I should go with the Storm, I was thinking about a Bold again, but someone offered me a month old Storm, Unlocked on T-Mobile (with EDGE) including everything it came with in exchange for my iPhone.

I'm not sure if I should or not, but I am seriously debating it. I'm not a big media user, more of a big texter, I think I send roughly 10,000-15,000 a month (one month was 13,200)

Any thoughts? I'm mostly worried about software lag, as well as getting used to the click screen, so any help would be really appreciated.

If it helps, I've had the first and second gen iPhone, got rid of the 3G for the Storm... and now I got rid of the Storm for the 3GS. Couldn't be happier. If you're that big of a texter, don't get the Storm. Just my opinion. The keyboard (or lack of) was one of the main reasons I got rid of my Storm. I can FLY on an iPhone keyboard...

Exchanging an unlocked Storm for an iPhone is not the best trade. The iPhones are worth a little more than the Storms - about $50 or so.

PS... 10,000 texts/month? That is like 1 text every 3 minutes that you are awake ... how do you manage to get things done that don't involve texting?

I would definitely not recommend the storm for texting. I would go for the Bold again, because of the great physical keyboard. When I had the storm, it was a huge let down.

I really like my storm. My main use of this phone is reading/composing emails and the occasional text though with the release of OS 148 I'm texting/email more than before is't a great improvement over the 78. Its also a business phone so I do enjoy business application built for blackberry

However since you text so much I really feel what you are missing is a physical keyboard.

He last note is there are some storm with bad hardware make sure the phone you are planing to switch is a working storm with no screen problems.

BTW this post was written with my storm

No way the Storm screen can take that abuse. I don't think you should have any touchscreen phone with that amount of texting though.

Now if someone came up to me and said I will give u my phone for the storm, I would not do it even if it was the other around.

My storm rocks, i text a lot too and after getting used to the screen I can fly on this thing. I love it, could never go back to a physical keyboard again. I have a friend who has an iphone and he keeps looking over my shoulder when i'm playing with my storm. Poor fella.

I use typically 2.5k - 3k texts a month with the storm. I don't have problems typing on it.

I wouldn't recommend the storm for texting... At least on my carrier the texts are limited to 140 characters and it won't break it into multiple texts will just not let you type anymore. Very annoying... but I don't text much mainly use it for Email and BBM which it is great for.

I never owned an iPhone so I cannot compare the two, but I have been happy with my storm as the newer OS builds have fixed most problems. I also hear the iPhones have their drawbacks and problems so really it is probably more of a personal choice.
