RIM techs in Canada did not have an answer.

STORM with 5.0 operating system with Options-Screen with Backlight Bright at 70, Timeout at 1 minute, Auto Dim OFF. Regardless of the surrounding lighting when the Storm goes from verticle to horizontal, the backlight dims. Touching the screen, hitting the menu or back arrow does Zip . . .returning it to verticle brings the backlight up to full power.

Suggestions????

Im having the same issue. It is actually doing it as well while i am using the phone vertically.

its a glitch in the os ....i upgraded mine and it did it too....thats why i am now rockin with my s2 out...lol

THANKS for the suggestions but ZIP works EXCEPT . . . . when the brightness is turned up to 90 or 100, the brightness does not dim.

im having that problem too. i love having my screen bright all the time, but no matter if i have auto dim off it still dims.
