I just spoke to a sales guy at my local store and if anyone can't get to a store Friday, but wants to avoid paying for shipping incurred by ordering online or over the phone, there is another option. Call your local store and see what their stock is. They can either hold a phone for you if they have sufficient stock or they can order you the phone and have it sent to the store. You would have to pick it up at the store, but you wouldn't pay for shipping and you wouldn't have to worry about them selling it because you would have already paid for it. Kind of like the pick it up at store option that exists for places like Best Buy or Circuit City, just you have to do it over the phone instead of having an online ordering option.
Little does he know I just ordered via telesales for Saturday delivery just out of convenience. Didn't want to wait all week for the store to figure out how they were going to handle this.
