i find that the cisco test is very in-accurate when it measures your speed! it does not tell you how big the file is and also does not take into account about the compression on the bb vs the i-foney! i used the extreme one last night and at home here in downtown toronto i avrged 700kbits/sec. at work i got 500kbits/sec. it also depends on how many ppl are using data on the one tower. remember its always different for each person! its like cable internet. the more ppl you have on it the slower it gets in your area! thats what 3g feels like to me!
if you use the one on cnet it really does not show how fast the phone is! it just shows you how fast the browser is! my thing is i want to know what the speed of my phone is for sending large emails and receiving them!
why is it that when I open the speedtest app I get an error msg saying - unable to connect to network. connection w server could not be established. check mobile network conection. - ?
After I press OK it then lets me run the test and I get around 600kbits/s. I can still use the web. I am obviously connected to network. anyone else have this issue?
Yes, I get that message every single time I run Speedtest, then it runs the test. And I average around 375 downstream, 315 up. Yeah. Screamin'. Sometimes it takes 2 minutes to load the CB mobile forum. I have the VZ Access Broadband connect (the "stick") for my laptop. What a joke. Slower than dial-up! I called and they said "That's your geographical area. It's a known problem. Sorry." Sigh. I guess I'm just not meant to be able to access things quickly. I guess I'll have to slow down. Smell the roses. Pffffft.
