    Hi everyone.
I just bought my friends blackberry storm and I had no clue that he still owes money before they deactivate it.
Until he pays, im unable to activate it on my account.

Does anyone know how i can solve this problem either by manually deavtivating or so on????

    Thanks for reading!

Verizon will NOT activate it until the account is paid off. There's no way around it. You could unlock it then use it on Att, Tmobile, or another GSM carrier though, just not on Verizon.

Your friend is an A**, the phone is disable by your carrier till he pays. Just return the phone back to him and get your money back.

Tell him to use the money you gave him for the phone, that should be working, to pay off his account. That doesn't sound like a very good friend to screw you like that...

    ok heres the deal though:

he was on an account with his friends where he supposedly took care of his "half" of the bills. regardless, his friend owes about 600 dollars.

    thanks for ur help everyone.

    $1.50 would be too much.

    heh.. you are 100% correct!

the funny thing was that before i posted i double checked vzw site and it said $180.

now $90... even more appealing.. might upgrade myself from S1

thanks for posting that! (i cant stand the low amount of memory we get after having only some decent apps, + i could really use the wifi over seas when i travel!)

As a wise man once said "If you loan $100 to a 'friend' and never see him again it was money well spent."

Is it possible that the friend didn't know Verizon won't release the phone off his line if the account was not in good standing?
