Well a few months ago I purchased a Palm Centro to replace my Treo 700. Of course they release the storm a few months later. I've been watching rumors for what like almost 2 years now and when I finally get my new phone they decide to release it lol.

Anyways who else is joining me for the 500$+ price tag?

Also how many phones have you purchase for over 500$?

The storm will make 3 phones for over 500$ I would say I'm well over 3k total for phones over the past 5 years. It's kind of sad if you think about it . Ohh well it's for a good cause.

I am but not really...if you factor in whatever I sell my LG Dare for (most likely $250) then I'm getting the phone for about $250 which is a little more then new customers would get the phone. My friend might also be able to get me some rebates...we'll see.

Not selling the Dare till I'm 100% satisfied wit the Storm though.

I'm going to add a line to my account to get it for the new activation price. I will then sell me curve for ~$200 and use that money to pay the $175 ETF on the line I just opened to get the storm. I shouldn't be more than $175 out of pocket.

Yeah I think I'm going to sell it. Although I may keep it for a month just incase for some crazy reason I don't like the storm or it's a dud I can fall back on my reliable phone. Plus part of me wants to keep it for times where I might need to do a lot of texting.

This will be the first phone I pay full retail for.

I have a Curve 8330 and an LG VX8600 to offset that price though. Hopefully it shouldn't be too much. Regardless, anyway, I'm still getting it.

My most expensive phone was a used 8830 WE that I paid $290 for off of ebay.

I wont go over about $300 for a phone based on principle. These smart phones only cost about $175 to make and then they charge $500+ for the phone? Its just ridiculous.

Ohh I've also owned a moto Q I forgot about that. I loved that phone for a little bit but like every other phone it gets old after 6 months. I'm hoping this will satisfy my needs for over 6 months.

Yeah I just bought a brand new laptop for 400$ out the door the other day and I'm looking at 200$ over that price for just a phone that's crazy. Although I'm a tech junkie so I have to have all the new toys the day they come out. This includes phones, video game systems, certain computers, certain tv's etc. It's expensive but I love when people are like wow is that the new ******* and I'm like yes it is. I think I need some counseling lol.

there is no reason to pay retail!! my ne2 contract wasn't up until march and i called vzw "plans and promotion" and spoke to "mike". After telling him that I would be adding a BIS plan plus updating to the storm he was able to move my ne2 date to TODAY!! Just speak kindly and kiss a little a$$,

I'm buying for full retail as well. I got really excited the other day cause i talked to a Rep on the phone and she told me it would retail for $379.99 but at this point I'm almost completely sure she was wrong. I called back today and the guy said probably around $500. I have my LG Voyager that I'm selling on Ebay right now and I'm hoping to get around 200 so I'll only be about $300 in debt after getting the Storm. My biggest concern is not the money tho, it's whether the Storm will be worth all that money...

I have never paid full retail, but I have also never been so interested in a phone than the storm (pathetic in some people's eyes haha). I sold my dare for $330 (I had some accessories with it) on ebay so that's definitely going to offset the price! Anyways, just thought I would join this full retail club!

I'll be paying retail. After selling a few old phones, I'll only end up paying around $150 for the Storm. Not bad!

I've thought about paying full retail. I have a PSP I want to sell. Plus, my Curve is in almost-new condition and I have a bunch of accessories I could throw in to sweeten the pot. I'm still on the fence. I'm missing the 30 day return policy by 12 days. It kills me!
