i know this is newbish but im having alot of problems trying to selecting and highlight words/number in messages and stuff on the storm its very irritating when i have to try to reselect over and over again any advise?

Have you tried setting the :
tap interval to 100
Hover period to 100
Swipe to 6

Setting key rate to a higher speed such as high?

I opened an e-mail, clicked on forward, found text I wanted to select, pressed the BB button to get the menu, clicked on "select", placed my thumb over the text I wanted to select and slid it along to capture what I wanted (it becomes highlighted in blue), copied and pasted above. Started a new e-mail and pasted the same text in that one. Clipboard type action seems to work...

For visual help, you should do a search in youtube. I did and found some new interesting tricks for amending particular letters in a word in a long text.

I was just as irritated as you seem to be, but after watching some vids i just became more impressed with the functionality of the phone. But, yeah, you have to know some tricks to not become irritated. LoL
