For my work I'd like to be able to save the call logs into a file or onto my machine(s) in one way or another without having to use a pen (for the funny ones amongst us
)
Is it possible? If yes, how?

Couple of options:
You should be able to dl all call activity from your carrier's website. It's easy we VZW, not sure about other carriers.
With VZW, you end up with a nice spreadsheet(.xls).
From the phone directly you can use DM.
goto>Back/Restore>Advanced
Select Phone Call Logs and back it up. (remeber to hit save as..)
Unfortunately it ends up as an .ipb file, which is restorable but not easy to "look" at, if that is what you are going for.
